NEW DELHI: A day after election strategist Prashant Kishor declined its membership offer, the Congress on Wednesday said that โ€œour doors and windows are open for anyone keen to join usโ€.

Addressing a press conference here, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera said that the Grand Old Party is in process of making necessary changes to meet aspiration of its workers.

โ€œOur doors and windows are open for anyone keen on joining us. We are a party and we are in the process of making changes in the party and we will definitely make necessary changes to meet the aspirations of the workers and leaders,โ€ Khera said.

He made the remarks while answering a question on Kishor declining the Congress interim chief Sonia Gandhiโ€™s offer to join the party.

Even senior party leader Digvijaya Singh, who was on the panel tasked with deciding on Kishorโ€™s Congress resurrection plan, said that the party had to set its house in order.

โ€œI agree. It is ultimately Congress which has to move and put its House in Order. Consultant or no Consultant!! I have a strong hunch the โ€œChintin Shivirโ€ would lead to bring in a New Congress which is the Need of the Hour,โ€ Singh tweeted.

On Monday, Kishor declined the offer to join the Congress and said that more than him the party needs leadership and collective will to fix the deep-rooted structural problems.
