MANIPURI – Dimple Yadav, wife of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, has stated that an educated individual should be chosen as the Prime Minister (PM) of the country if the INDIA alliance comes to power. Yadav is currently contesting the Lok Sabha election from the Manipuri seat.

During a roadshow, Yadav was interviewed by The New Indian. When asked about PM Modi’s claim of crossing 400 seats and her posters stating ‘Abki Bar 4 Lakh Par’ (this time cross four lakh (the winning margin), she clarified that ‘Abki Bar 4 lakh Par’ is not her slogan. It was put up by the supporters of the Samajwadi Party and locals, indicating their desire for her victory.

Dimple emphasized the importance of voting to safeguard democracy and the Constitution. She believes that this election has transformed into a battle for respect and the future.

On being asked about the potential PM if the INDIA alliance wins, Dimple stressed the need for an educated PM. She cited the current issues of record-breaking inflation, lack of jobs for the youth, peak unemployment, farmers lacking MSP, and the burden of huge debt. She believes that an educated PM would be able to implement better policies and have the experience to lead the country forward.

Addressing allegations from the opposition about leaders being imprisoned and accounts being frozen by the BJP government, Dimple did not deny the government’s attempts to suppress the opposition. She criticized the BJP government for its continuous use of suppressive politics and agencies like ED, CBI, NIA, and GST to suppress the opposition. She expressed that society feels they are at the receiving end.

Dimple concluded by saying that all sections of society now want change by removing the present government. She believes people will vote against the government that has dampened their hopes.
