Dhami Extols Role Of Women On Rakhi

DEHRADUN: Uttarakhand Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has congratulated the people of the state on Raksha Bandhan.

On the eve of Raksha Bandhan on Wednesday, a large number of women of the state tied rakhis to the CM at his official residence, wishing him a long life.

“Rakhi is a symbol of the sacred relationship between a brother and a sister. The festival communicates zeal and enthusiasm in life, along with mutual brotherhood. Festivals are our identity and play an important role in maintaining the ancient culture,” said the CM.

The CM added that our women have a big role in the development of the state as well as our country.

“Our mothers and sisters have also contributed a lot in breaking the myth of the same party not forming the government for the second time in the state. The standard of living of the women of the state should be high and we are constantly striving to bring revolutionary changes in their lives,” added the CM.

He further said that a committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Justice Ranjana Prakash Desai to implement the Uniform Civil Code in the state.

He also said that with the arrangement to provide three gas cylinders to poor women in the state, the old age pension to both the old husband and wife has been increased from ₹1,000 to ₹1,500 per month.

“We endeavour to make Uttarakhand a drug-free and corruption-free state. For this, the formation of the Anti-Narcotics Cell and restructuring the structure of Vigilance, 1064 toll-free number has been issued for complaints,” he pointed out.

“For effective implementation of development schemes and speedy resolution of public problems, work is being done with the goal of simplification, solution and resolution without option,” said the CM.

CM Dhami said that efforts are being made by all the departments and institutions in view of the action plan to make Uttarakhand a leading and ideal state in 2025.

“On the 75th anniversary of independence, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are celebrating Amrit Mahotsav. This Mahotsav, dedicated to the great freedom fighters and martyred brave soldiers, is also a pledge for a new India, a self-reliant India,” said the CM.
