CM Yogi Adityanath met the top officials at the circuit house. He also instructed the officials to celebrate the festival with gaiety and grandeur.
Later on, CM Yogi Adityanath rode on a boat from Namo Ghat to inspect the decorations done for the Dev Deepawali from the river Ganga.
CM Yogi Adityanath also reviewed the preparations for the upcoming ‘Kashi-Tamil Sangamam’ which will be held in the city from November 17.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that all the preparations for the month-long ‘Kashi-Tamil Sangamam’ should be of a high level. He said that the Tamil language has its origin in Lord Shiva, so there can be no better place for this programme than Kashi.
The delegation members coming during the programme should be welcomed by the Damru team on the first day and by the Vedic mantra recitation on the second day. Prime minister Narendra Modi will join the programme virtually on November 19.
Meanwhile, CM Yogi Adityanath also directed officials to control the stray animals. He also put special emphasis on keeping the traffic system tidy and not allowing any kind of trouble for the general public.
On the lack of cleanliness at Manikarnika Ghat, the CM directed the officials to ensure proper sanitation and toilet facilities. He instructed the members of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Water Police to remain active while instructing them not to operate the boat under the influence.
CM Yogi Adityanath asked that the policemen on duty during Dev Deepawali be counselled and instructed that their behaviour towards the general public should be good. He also put emphasis on the provision of CCTV cameras at the venue.
CM told the officials that the eyes of the whole world will be on Varanasi, as it also happens to be the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
