NEW DELHI: Gurpreet Singh, the primary suspect in the case of the Swiss woman’s tragic demise, has been remanded to police custody for four days by a Delhi Court. The Delhi Police sought his custody to conduct a comprehensive interrogation, in order to piece together the entire chain of events surrounding the crime.

According to police sources, Gurpreet Singh had been in a relationship with the Swiss woman and frequently travelled to Switzerland to be with her. However, he grew suspicious of her involvement with another man, which ultimately led to the unfortunate incident.

Reports indicate that Singh executed a premeditated plan that culminated in the woman’s death. In a scheme to bring her to India, he invited her and subsequently strangled her.

The grim discovery of the Swiss national woman’s lifeless body under mysterious circumstances in West Delhi’s Tilak Nagar occurred on Friday. An extensive investigation ensued, during which CCTV footage played a pivotal role in identifying Singh as a suspect. He was subsequently apprehended and, during police interrogation, admitted to the murder.

Police sources have provided further insight into the relationship between Gurpreet Singh and the deceased woman. They initially met in Switzerland and developed a close friendship. Singh’s frequent visits to Switzerland to meet her established a significant connection between the two. It is suggested that his suspicions of her involvement with another man were the catalyst for the tragic events that followed.

Details emerging from police sources suggest that Singh meticulously planned the murder. Under the pretext of performing a magic trick, he lured the victim into a room, where he bound her hands and feet before taking her life.

Furthermore, Singh’s actions included the purchase of an old car under a woman’s identity. He used this vehicle to transport the victim’s body and subsequently abandoned it in a nearby area. When a foul odour began to emanate from the body, he resorted to disposing of the remains in a second-hand car before fleeing the scene.
