Delhi Police summons Atiq’s man Guddu Muslim in arms case

New Delhi: In yet another development in the Umesh Pal murder case, the Special Cell of Delhi Police has summoned fugitive Guddu Muslim – an aide of slain UP mafia Atiq Ahmed – in a firearm recovery case.

The cell has pasted a notice outside his home in Prayagraj, asking him to join the police investigation. He is wanted by the UP Police in connection with the Umesh Pal murder case. Muslim is carrying a reward of ₹5 lakh on his head.

Locals, however, said that the building in Lal Ki Saray area has been locked for the past 22 years.

Local Police said that it was not contacted by the Delhi Police Special Cell.

The case pertains to the recovery of a firearm from the residence of a person named Javed in Sangam Vihar area of South Delhi on April 25.

According to policemen, it was Guddu Muslim who arranged weapons to kill Umesh Pal, the prime witness in the 2005 Raju Pal murder case, and his lawyer and two security guards in February this year.

Guddu Muslim, also known as Bombbaz, is an expert in bomb-making and during the Umesh Pal murder case. He was seen throwing bombs at Umesh Pal’s car.

He is at the run since the daylight murder. Many of his accomplices have since been gunned down by the UP Police in separate encounters.

His boss, Atiq Ahmed along with his brother Ashraf were shot dead by three young criminals in police custody in Prayagraj last month.

Atiq’s son Asad – who was leading the attack party during ambush on Umesh Pal – was killed by special police unit following an exchange of fire in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh, barely days before Atiq’s murder.

Guddu, who goes by many aliases like Mohammed Muslim, Guddu Muslim, Guddu Bambaaz, and Guddu Shooter – is a crucial missing link in the Umesh Pal murder case. On February 24, when the Ahmed brothers were shot dead. When he was shot dead, Ashraf was mid-sentence. “Main baat ye hai ki Guddu Muslim…” Ashraf said.
