NEW DELHI: A day after a brick was hurled at former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and an alleged assault on BJP’s Pravesh Verma, the Delhi Police in its findings has stated that the AAP did not follow the terms and conditions laid down in the permission granted for their political campaign.
The police diary: On Saturday, the police received a PCR call regarding the incident at around 4 PM. The caller reported that four boys were hit by a vehicle belonging to Arvind Kejriwal. “As per the report, the offending vehicle fled from the spot after the incident,” stated the police findings.
The report mentioned that an election program for Arvind Kejriwal was scheduled on January 18 at 3 PM at Lal Bahadur Sadan, under the jurisdiction of PS Mandir Marg. Appropriate permission for the event was taken by the organizer, Rajneesh Bhaskar (Advocate).
SHO Mandir Marg was present at the venue along with sufficient staff to maintain law and order.

“However, upon reaching the spot, it was observed that the terms and conditions laid down in the permission were not being followed by the organizer,” the police said. They also stated that Kejriwal was permitted to conduct door-to-door canvassing with pamphlet distribution, but instead, a public meeting was held where people were allowed to sit on chairs.
The permission mentioned a gathering of 7-8 persons, but around 100 people were present. A loudspeaker was also used, despite no permission being granted for its use. Numerous Aam Aadmi Party posters were tied to poles along the route between Bhai Veer Singh Marg and the venue at Lal Bahadur Sadan, which was also not permitted.
Information about these violations was shared with O.P. Pandey, SDM and RO, via WhatsApp, along with photos. Pandey sent the Flying Squad Team (FST) to the spot. Later, NDMC staff arrived and removed the posters after the program concluded.
During the event, some attendees began raising slogans of “Kejriwal, go back.” The SHO immediately intervened and asked them to move aside. These individuals eventually moved towards the main road, Bhai Veer Singh Marg.
After the program concluded at about 4 PM, the motorcade proceeded towards the main road. The SHO directed some staff to accompany the motorcade and followed it to ensure a safe exit.

Outside the venue, at Lal Bahadur Lane near Bhai Veer Singh Marg, some individuals attempted to stop the vehicles in the motorcade. The accompanying staff intervened and ensured the motorcade exited safely via the main road.
This incident was captured by a Delhi Police camera installed on Bhai Veer Singh Marg. The footage has been recovered and sent for review.
Police officials reported that Vishal, Rohit, and Abhishek, three individuals, were taken to a nearby government hospital. However, when the police team arrived, they refused to give statements.
A complaint was filed by Rajneesh Bhaskar, an Advocate for the Aam Aadmi Party Legal Cell, seeking legal action against BJP supporters for disrupting the AAP event and assaulting Arvind Kejriwal’s convoy.
