NEW DELHI: The Delhi Police have filed an FIR against Khalsitani terrorist Goldy Brar for allegedly threatening and placing an extortion call to a hotelier in Delhi.
According to the FIR, Brar had allegedly threatened him through claims of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang targeting him, giving an ultimatum of “dire consequences” if their demands were not met. The Khalistani had allegedly demanded the hotelier to vacate the land on which his three-star hotel was built in South Delhi.
“The victim, businessman Bharat, received a call from a London number. The caller identified himself as Goldy Brar. The call occurred on December 18 around 3 pm. Brar allegedly threatened the hotelier, accusing him of illegally occupying the land where the hotel was constructed. He insisted that the hotel be transferred to Nuna Majra Village,” stated the police FIR.
According to the FIR, the call was made through WhatsApp. Two calls were made of which the first was disconnected followed by another from the same London number to the hotelier.
The victim informed the caller that his father had legally purchased the land, and the hotel was constructed following all legal rules and norms. He asserted that he was in possession of the appropriate registry documents of the land and emphasised that he had not encroached upon anyone’s property illegally.
The hotelier added that the London caller had given him a two-day ultimatum to vacate the hotel.
Presently, the Delhi Police Special Cell is slated to contact Bishnoi regarding the matter, however, further insights into the case are still awaited. The police have refrained from commenting on the issue.
