NEW DELHI: Delhi Police deported 132 foreign nationals in 2024 for staying in the city without valid documentation in a significant operation. The individuals hailed from countries including Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Guinea, Uzbekistan, Ghana, Uganda, and Senegal, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka), Ankit Singh.

 

The deportees comprised 116 Nigerians, seven Ivory Coast nationals, three Guineans, three Uzbeks, two Ghanaians, two Ugandans, and one Senegalese citizen. Among them were five Nigerian women and three Uzbek women, who were residing in slums, unauthorized colonies, and densely populated migrant hubs within the Dwarka district.

The Anti Narcotics Cell played a pivotal role in the operation, leading 73 deportations. Additional efforts came from Uttam Nagar police station with 48 deportations, Mohan Garden with eight, and Dabri with two.

 

This comprehensive crackdown highlights Delhi Policeโ€™s commitment to addressing unauthorized immigration and maintaining law and order in the national capital.

 

Second Operation:

 

Strict Action Against Illegal Immigrants in Dwarka: 5 Bangladeshi Nationals Deported

 

In a major crackdown against illegal immigrants, the Dwarka Police achieved significant success by identifying and deporting five Bangladeshi nationals who were residing in India without valid documents. Dwarka Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ankit Singh confirmed that the individuals were identified during a special drive and were sent back to their country following thorough investigations.

450 Suspected Individuals Identified, Over 300 Verified

 

As part of the drive, around 450 suspected individuals in Dwarka district were identified. Of these, the verification process for more than 300 people has already been completed. Many of these individuals possessed documents from Assam and West Bengal, which were sent for verification to these states through special police teams.

 

The police emphasized their commitment to ensuring that those staying illegally in the district are brought under the purview of the law. DCP Ankit Singh stated that the campaign will continue to keep Dwarka free from illegal activities and to maintain law and order in the area.

 

Local residents have welcomed the initiative, expressing hope that such measures will strengthen security and legal compliance in the region.
