Delhi Police Constable killed by Wagon R occupants in Nangloi

NEW DELHI – In a tragic incident of road rage, a 30-year-old Delhi Police Constable, Sandeep, was killed after being hit and dragged by a Wagon R in Outer Delhi’s Nangloi on Sunday morning. The occupants of the vehicle, reportedly involved in illegal activities, struck Sandeep’s bike and dragged him for about 10 meters, leading to his death.

According to a senior police official, Sandeep was on his way from Nangloi Police Station towards Railway Road, patrolling the area in plain clothes due to increased burglary incidents. He noticed a Wagon R being driven recklessly and signaled the driver to slow down. However, the vehicle accelerated, hitting Sandeep from behind and dragging him before colliding with another car.

Sandeep sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to Sonia Hospital, then transferred to Balaji Hospital in Paschim Vihar, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

CCTV footage revealed that Sandeep had taken a left turn into a narrow lane and indicated the Wagon R to slow down when the vehicle suddenly sped up and hit his bike. The impact caused Sandeep to be dragged along with his bike for about 10 meters before the Wagon R hit a parked car.

A case under section 103 BNS has been registered, and an investigation is underway. The accused are currently on the run, and a manhunt has been launched to apprehend them.

Sandeep is survived by his mother, wife, and a five-year-old son. The incident has raised concerns about road safety and the increasing pressure on law enforcement officers dealing with illegal activities.
