NEW DELHI: In the wake of a couple of low-intensity blasts outside the Israel Embassy premises, the Delhi Police have beefed up security outside and near Jewish establishments in the national capital.

During the investigation, police officials uncovered an abusive letter addressed to the Israel Ambassador, Naor Gilon. Several intelligence agencies, including the National Investigation Agency (NIA), are probing into the blast.

While combing the area, the police did not find any remnants of the explosive device near the embassy. Presently, the authorities have not ruled out a ‘chemical explosion’.

Presently, security agencies are scanning CCTV footage from within the vicinity. According to news agencies, authorities had found two men walking on the road minutes before the blast. The agencies are presently trying to ascertain if they are suspects or not.

News agencies were also informed that the letter in English contained words like “Zionists”, “Palestine” and “Gaza”. The writers of the letter identified themselves as part of an organisation called ‘Sir Allah Resistence’.

Following the blast on Tuesday, the Israel National Security Council issued an advisory for citizens residing in India. They had also advised them to avoid crowded places frequented by the West.

The Israel Deputy Ambassador to India, Ohad Nakash Kaynar, illustrated that all the workers and diplomats were safe after the bomb blast.

“On December 26, a bomb exploded near the Israeli embassy in New Delhi. It is possible that this is an attack,” the Israel National Security Council highlighted.
