NEW DELHI – The Delhi High Court has granted bail to Hyderabad businessman Arun Ramachandran Pillai in connection with the high-profile money laundering case linked to the Delhi excise policy. The ruling was delivered by Justice Neena Bansal Krishna.
Pillai was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in March 2023. He is alleged to have connections with Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K. Kavitha, who is also facing charges in the same case.

The accusations against Pillai include acting as a middleman, receiving bribes from Sameer Mahandru, the Managing Director of Indospirit, a liquor company, and distributing them to other involved parties. Mahandru was granted bail by the court earlier this week.
The ED has accused Pillai of providing false information during the investigation and tampering with evidence.
This development marks a significant turn in the ongoing investigation into the Delhi excise policy case, which has seen several high-profile individuals come under scrutiny. The court’s decision to grant bail to Pillai comes amidst a backdrop of intense legal battles and allegations of corruption and misconduct.
