NEW DELHI: The Kejriwal government is leaving no stone unturned to welcome Kanwariyas in Delhi this year. Revenue Minister Atishi in a press release announced that 185 Kanwar camps are being set up across the city, ensuring the best possible facilities for the devotees. These camps will be equipped with high-quality waterproof tents, medical facilities, clean water, toilets, and furniture.

Minister Atishi emphasised the government’s commitment to serving Shiv Bhakts during the holy month of Sawan, ensuring that every necessary step is taken to provide top-notch facilities for Kanwariyas. She noted that Kanwariyas will start arriving in Delhi on July 25, with all Kanwar camps expected to be fully prepared in the next 2-3 days. The majority of these camps are being set up in East Delhi, North-East Delhi, and Shahdara districts, which serve as key entry-exit points for the Kanwariyas.

Minister Atishi appealed to the people of Delhi to participate in this religious act, extend their support, and help Kanwariyas wherever needed. She highlighted that during the holy month of Sawan, especially in North India, Kanwariyas bring water from Haridwar. To accommodate them, the Delhi government ensures the best facilities through these Kanwar camps.

This year, the highest number of camps, 38, is being set up in the Shahdara district, while North-East, Central, and East Delhi will have 29, 22, and 19 camps respectively. The minister also assured that the Kejriwal government remains committed to providing the best facilities for Kanwariyas since its formation. High-quality waterproof tents, medical facilities, clean water, toilets, and furniture have been consistently arranged to ensure a smooth journey for the Kanwariyas.

The Delhi Revenue Department has been preparing for the Kanwar camps since June, with continuous inspections by the Minister in Charge and senior officials.
