A five-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and raped by an unidentified person while she was playing outside her house in the Bhalswa Dairy area.

Angry family members blocked the road on Thursday night and protested against the police, demanding justice in the matter.

The five-year-old girl, whose father works in a private factory, was abducted from near her house on Wednesday evening. CCTV footage is also collected, in which a man is seen with the girl. In another video, he is seen carrying the girl.

The girl recovered the next day (Thursday morning) from an isolated area in the locality. Sources said since her condition was not well, she was immediately rushed to the hospital, where she is recuperating and being kept under observation by the doctors.

According to a senior police officer, the police received information regarding the missing girl child, aged 4–5, at the police station on Wednesday night.

Accordingly, a case under Section 363 (kidnapping) of the IPC was registered, and three teams of Delhi police were formed to trace the child.

Police said an announcement from the mosque was also made that night, and a photo of the child was circulated to all police officers.

“With continuous efforts and dedicated teams, the PCR staff found the child in normal circumstances and conditions, and the child was taken for medical examination as mandated by law,” said the police officer.

The doctors opined on sexual assault and accordingly, sections 376 (rape) of the IPC and 6 Pocso were added.

Police said they have pressed 10 teams of special staff and the police station to look at different angles and trace the accuse. “With the leads we have, we are hopeful to nab the accused in the next 24 hours,” added the officer.

The family members and relatives of the girl, however, agitated against the police and demanded justice. They also tried to block GT Karnal road on Thursday evening. They said the police failed to nab the accused person despite his photo being captured on CCTV.
