NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s Patparganj candidate and UPSC coach Avadh Ojha in an exclusive interview with The New Indian’s Executive Editor Rohan Dua, has delved into the pressing issue of awareness on sex education in India,

While recollecting attack on a similar UPSC coaching Vikas DivyaKriti, who faced a barrage of attack over unsafe basement coaching classes, Ojha came forthcoming on societal challenges.

On accusations by some students during controversy over deaths of three children at Rau’s IAS if he taught anything on sex education, Ojha invoked a thought-provoking analogy.

“Tell me, have you seen the Khajuraho temples? The outer walls depict erotic sculptures,” he said, emphasizing that discussions around human sexuality have been a part of Indian heritage.

Ojha further pointed out the challenges faced by today’s youth. “Look at the youth today on New Year’s Eve. Young boys and girls were lying drunk on the streets. What does this indicate?” he questioned, highlighting a deeper societal issue.

Ojha stressed the broader problem of awareness.

“Today, I see eighth or ninth graders smoking. Why? Stress. They scroll through Twitter, seeing murders, fights, and negativity all day. This constant exposure is frustrating and depressing them,” he explained.
