NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to unveil the third segment of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) manifesto for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections today. This release follows the party’s earlier commitments aimed at various sections of society, including women, students, and senior citizens.
In the first part of its manifesto, the BJP pledged to continue existing welfare schemes in Delhi, such as free electricity for households consuming up to 200 units and complimentary bus rides for women on Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses. The party also emphasized its commitment to eradicating corruption and implementing central schemes like Ayushman Bharat, which have not been adopted by the current Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government.

The second instalment of the manifesto introduced significant promises for education and women’s welfare. The BJP announced free education from kindergarten to postgraduate levels for needy students and financial aid of ₹15,000 for aspirants of competitive exams. Additionally, the manifesto proposed six months of paid maternity leave for women in Delhi.
While the details of the third part of the manifesto remain under wraps until its official release, it is anticipated that the BJP will focus on infrastructure development, healthcare improvements, and further measures to enhance public services. Given the party’s recent emphasis on welfare initiatives, there may also be new proposals targeting underprivileged communities and efforts to bolster economic opportunities for Delhi’s residents.

The BJP’s strategy in these elections is centred on presenting itself as a viable alternative to the AAP, which has been in power in Delhi for the past decade. By addressing key issues such as education, women’s welfare, and anti-corruption measures, the BJP aims to resonate with a broad spectrum of voters.
As the electoral battle intensifies, the forthcoming manifesto release by Amit Shah is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the BJP’s campaign narrative and influencing voter sentiment ahead of the polls.
