Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and Delhi Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal attended a ghazal concert, ‘Dayar-Ishq’ on January 28. ‘Dayar-E-Ishq’ is a Ghazal concert by Anita Singhvi, who is a renowned Ghazal artist, and was organised as part of the Indian Heritage and Health Care Centre’s 16th Festival of Indian Culture.
Singer Anita Singhvi transported the audience to a realm of emotions through her voice. Singhvi is the wife of senior advocate and Congress Rajya Sabha MP Abhishek Manu Singhvi, who was also present during the event held at the India Islamic Cultural Centre.
Apart from Singhvi, Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha along with eminent poets from across the country, were also present on the occasion.
The concert was a mesmerising experience that transported the audience to a realm of emotion. The soulful renditions of the ghazals by Singhvi, who is also a Sufi exponent, left the audience spellbound and longing for more. The evening was reckoned as a true celebration of the rich cultural heritage of ghazal as an art form.
CM Kejriwal also felicitated Singhvi with a bouquet. The concert was followed by ‘Lamha-E-Shayari’, where eminent poets rendered their kalaams.
Singhvi mesmerised the audience with her emotive delivery that left the crowd spellbound. The crowd was particularly moved by her performances of ‘Aye Mohabbat Tere Anjam Pe Rona Aaya’ and Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s ‘Mujhse Pehli Si Mohabbat Mere Mahbub Na Maang’.
Her impeccable control over the nuances of the Ghazal genre was evident in her renditions, making the evening a true celebration of the rich cultural heritage of Ghazal as an art form.
