NEW DELHI: Delhi’s former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has raised alarm over the deteriorating law and order situation in the national capital by writing a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Citing a series of alarming statistics and incidents, Kejriwal has requested an urgent meeting with Shah to discuss the issue and seek solutions.   In his letter, Kejriwal expressed concern over the rising crimes in Delhi, particularly against women, and criticized the inefficacy of the current law enforcement system. “It is extremely disheartening that Delhi is now being recognized as the ‘crime capital’ both nationally and internationally,” wrote Kejriwal.   Highlighting key data, he stated, “Among India’s 19 metro cities, Delhi ranks first in crimes against women and murder cases. There has been a 350% rise in drug-related crimes since 2019.
