Flight operations from Terminal 1 were halted indefinitely on Friday due to a roof collapse caused by heavy rain and strong winds, resulting in one fatality and eight injuries.
Delhi Airport authorities attributed the collapse primarily to the heavy rainfall. They formed a technical committee to investigate the incident and announced compensation of ₹20 lakh to the deceased person’s family and ₹3 lakh each to the injured individuals.
