Both parties seek to take credit of beautification work in run up G20 Summit

NEW DELHI: Amid a tug of war between the AAP and BJP regarding the G20 Summit preparations, Delhi minister Saurabh Bhardwaj on Tuesday responded to the BJPโ€™s claims by asserting that the Aam Aadmi Party-led government did not receive any funds from the Centre for the beautification of the national capital.

The summit is scheduled to take place for September 9 and 10.

Minister Bhardwaj said that chief minister Arvind Kejriwalโ€™s government conducted major revamp and beautification work in the old Delhi area, including revamping Ghalibโ€™s Haveli to preserve its heritage.

On Sunday, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva contended that the makeover of the national capital was financially supported by the Central government.
