Danish tried to heckle me on population bill: Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan

Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan

NEW DELHI:  BJP MP Ravi Kishan, who made a debut from UP’s Gorakhpur in 2019, has joined the chorus with his party MP Nishikant Dubey to slam Danish Ali while accusing him of first heckling him during a private member bill on population control in December.

The MP shared his own instance with the Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla from the Winter session of the Parliament last year.

He said “Twice he used unparliamentary language against me. On 9.12.22 when I was tabling my Private Member’s Bill namely “The Population Control Bill, 2019” in the house. Danish tried to interrupt me and made personal remarks against me stating that the Member is introducing a Private Member’s Bill although he (Ravi Kishan) is himself having four children.”

The Gorakhpur MP’s remarks have added more scrutiny to the confrontation between the BJP and INDI alliance leaders after a video clip that caught saffron party’s South Delhi MP Ramesh Bidhuri on camera while he made uncharitable remarks on Ali, calling him ‘terrorist’ along with religious slurs.

In a letter penned to the Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla, Ravi Kishan has now said there is a pattern of behavior displayed by  Ali in heckling other members during the discussions.

”I would like to draw your kind attention towards the habit and behavior of heckling by Kunwar Danish Ali during the discussion or participation of another Member of Parliament in the House in the past,” Ravi Kishan told Birla in a letter.

He called out such behavior by Ali and labeled it ‘unacceptable’, requesting the speaker to examine it.

He requested the speaker to revisit the circumstances that led to use of such ‘objectionable words’ by Bidhuri. In the letter he wrote, “the circumstances which lead to the outcome of such objectionable words used by a Member of Parliament against another Member of the house  needs to be revisited and examined.”

Ravi also asked Birla to look into his matter as well and ‘examine the unparliamentary acts and use of words’ by Ali.
