NEW DELHI: The Curtain Raiser for the 2nd International Conference on Green Hydrogen 2024 (ICGH2024) took place on September 4th at the Hyatt Regency, New Delhi, setting the stage for the main event scheduled at Bharat Mandapam from September 11 to 13.
The event was inaugurated by Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister of New & Renewable Energy and Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution. In his address, Minister Joshi emphasized the pivotal role of green hydrogen in India’s energy transition and its potential to foster national and international collaborations.

“I am proud to say that India embraced the idea of green energy alongside developed nations. With your support and efforts, I assure you that we will become a global leader in producing, storing, and distributing green hydrogen,” Joshi stated, urging stakeholders to actively engage with the evolving green hydrogen landscape.
Bhupinder S. Bhalla, Secretary of the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, outlined the conference’s agenda, highlighting the inclusion of a youth session as a key component of ICGH2024. He stressed the importance of involving young minds in discussions about the future of green hydrogen, which will have a profound impact on future generations.
The event concluded with a media interaction where Secretary Bhalla addressed questions regarding the potential of green hydrogen and the goals of the upcoming conference at Bharat Mandapam.

The event was attended by several high-ranking officials, including Sudeep Jain, Additional Secretary at MNRE; R P Gupta, Chairman & Managing Director of Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited and Abhay Bakre, Mission Director of the National Green Hydrogen Mission.
The event was organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) in collaboration with the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, the Department of Science & Technology (DST), and the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR).
Key partners included the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).
