As told by Shahnaz Husain to The New Indian
Summer brings sunshine, warmth, and outdoor fun, but it also brings challenges for our skin, including sun damage, dehydration, and breakouts. If you are traveling then you have to be extra careful. Well, if we talk about the weather, taking care of the skin in winter is easier than taking care of the skin in summer. Make sure you clean your face with cleanser two times a day so that all the impurities go away. Make sure to exfoliate your skin so that the pores remain clean and clear.
During the summer season, wash your face with cold water three to four times a day. By doing this the glow of the face will remain. There are also plenty of natural ingredients available right in your kitchen to help keep your skin healthy, glowing, and protected during the summer months.
Benefits of Cooling Face Mask
These face masks are great for dull and dry skin. Apart from providing moisture to the skin, this face mask will also give an instant glow to the face. They can be a good option for tan removal. Cooling face masks often contain ingredients such as aloe vera, cucumber, or menthol, which have calming properties. These ingredients help reduce redness, inflammation, and irritation, making them ideal for sensitive or sunburned skin.
Face Mask With Mint & Curd
Mint has astringent properties that help control excess oil production and minimize the appearance of pores, making it beneficial for oily or acne-prone skin. Curd, on the other hand, helps balance the skin’s pH level and regulate sebum production, further contributing to oil control. Together, mint and curd help mattify the skin and prevent shine, keeping it looking fresh.
Wash a handful of mint leaves and crush them well or grind them and make a paste.
Add 2 spoons of curd in it mix well and make a smooth mixture.
Apply it on your face and neck. Leave it for 20 minutes and then wash your face with cold water.
This mask can be applied 3 times a week. It can also help in relieving fatigue.
Face Mask With Green Tea & Honey
Green tea contains antibacterial and antimicrobial compounds that help fight acne-causing bacteria, making it effective for treating and preventing breakouts. Honey has similar properties and also helps unclog pores, reduce excess oil, and promote healing, making it an excellent addition to acne-fighting skincare routines.
First of all, add 1 cup water and green tea in a pan and boil it well. When the green tea reduces to half and the colour becomes dark, cool it down.
Now add 1 teaspoon of green tea and 1 tablespoon of honey in a bowl and mix. Dab it on your face with the help of cotton and leave it for 20 minutes.
Wash your face with cold water. If you want, you can also add 1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel to it and try this remedy twice a week.
Face Mask With Cucumber, Tomato and Honey
The combination of cucumber, tomato, and honey helps brighten the complexion and reduce the appearance of dark spots and uneven skin tone. Tomato contains natural acids that gently exfoliate the skin, while honey helps promote cell turnover, resulting in a more radiant and even skin tone.
Cleanse your face to remove any dirt, oil, or makeup residue.
Peel and chop half a cucumber and one ripe tomato, then place them in a blender and blend until smooth.
Transfer the cucumber and tomato puree to a mixing bowl and add two tablespoons of honey.
Apply the mask evenly to your clean face and neck, avoiding the eye area.
Leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off the mask with lukewarm water and pat your skin dry with a clean towel.
Follow up with your favourite moisturizer or serum to lock in hydration and seal the benefits of the mask.
