KALPETTA: Rahul Gandhi’s Congress manifesto has contents that will directly impact people residing near forest zones, said K Surendran, NDA Wayanad candidate and BJP state president. “Has the Congress come up with such a manifesto to evict the people living in Wayanad and Idukki and 11 districts?”, asked Surendran. While the people living in hilly areas are demanding a permanent solution to the wild animal attacks, the Congress manifesto is against it, he said.

“The central government had in November brought concessions to existing laws to people living near forest areas. But carbon funding is flowing to Kerala. In the name of environmental protection, large amounts of funds are coming to Kerala. Congress party has been their supporter. This is nothing but pseudo-environmental activism. Rahul Gandhi is supporting this. Farmers’ anger against the manifesto is already visible. The UDF should make its stand clear. When the BJP manifesto is promising a solution to this issue, the Congress is cheating the people of Wayanad”, Surendran said.

‘UDF-LDF promoting communalism’: K Surendran

“The UDF and the LDF are spreading communalism openly. The Chief Minister is openly advocating communalism. The opposition is supporting it. Both parties are eyeing the vote of one of the communities. The Christian minority in Kerala is being sidelined in Kerala”, K Surendran said.

‘The state government is guilty of spoiling the Thrissur pooram festivities. This is why K Rajan, the cabinet minister, is coming up with excuses. The government is clearly at fault and that is the reason why the Commissioner has been shifted. Why did the police try to stop the cutout of Lord Sri Ram which was to be exhibited during the ‘Kudamattam? Why try to block the ‘Madathil varavu’? Is the government trying to exhibit the plot of Cheguvera instead of Lord Ram? There is a section of forces who are behind this. They wanted to eliminate the cultural identities of the state. This is precisely the reason why they tried to meddle with Sabarimala temple and Thrissur pooram”, added K Surendran.
