During the meeting, the party leaders discussed the strategy to make the country-wide protest a grand success.

Venugopal took to Twitter and wrote, “A meeting of General Secretaries, Incharges, PCC Presidents & Heads of Frontal Organizations was held today at AICC HQ to coordinate the preparations for Congress nationwide protest on 5th August, & for the celebration of 75 years of Independence.”

He also attached photographs of the meeting. Congress has planned a massive nationwide protest over the issue of price rise and unemployment on August 5.

The Congress has also planned a march to Rashtrapati Bhavan from Parliament and ‘Prime Minister House Gherao’ as part of its protest.

Members of the Congress Working Committee (CWC) along with other senior leaders will take part in the protest.

In a statement issued two days ago, Congress said its elected representatives at all levels will court arrest in their respective blocks and district headquarters.

“Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs will hold Chalo Rashtrapati Bhavan, from the Parliament to register our protest against price rise and unemployment,” the statement said.

In Delhi, the party shall organise ’Prime Minister House Gherao’ in which CWC members and senior leadership of the party will participate, the statement added.
