“Concerned About Safety Of Indians In Ukraine”: PM Modi To Ukraine President

Amid the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday had a telephonic conversation with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
President Zelenskyy briefed PM Modi in detail about the deteriorating situation in Ukraine in the wake of Russian invasion.
During his conversation with Ukrainian President,  PM Modi conveyed his deep concerns for the safety and security of Indian citizens, including students, who are in Ukraine. He sought immediate facilitation by Ukrainian authorities to expedite the safe evacuation of Indian citizens.
PM also expressed his deep anguish about the loss of lives and reiterated that he is in favour of an immediate cessation of violence.
He also said India is willing to contribute towards easing tensions and starting the peace process.
