SRINAGAR: The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police is carrying out extensive raids across multiple locations in the Union Territory.
Among the key sites searched is the District Jail in Mattan, Anantnag, where CIK teams are inspecting various blocks and barracks. The operation is reportedly linked to a terror-related investigation, with technical evidence discovered within the jail premises prompting the search.
In addition to Mattan, raids have been conducted in the villages of Sonigam and Chawalgam in Kulgam district. Searches were also carried out in Udhampur and Jammu, coordinated closely with local police. The operations have been authorized through court-issued search warrants.
Official sources indicate that 6-8 digital devices, including mobile phones and tablets, have been seized so far. The raids are part of efforts to gather evidence related to technical traces detected within the jail and other suspect locations.
Further updates on the investigation are awaited.
