Chittoor-Mallavaram Six-Lane Highway To Be Ready By Sept End

NEW DELHI: The work on the six-lane highway between Chittoor and Mallavaram in Andhra Pradesh is to be completed by September 30 this year, according to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

Nitin Gadkari, Union minister of road transport and highways (MoRTH), said, “This NH section connects important towns in Chittoor District i.e. Chittoor and Tirupati via religious place Kanipakam. He said the project length starts at Kukkalapalli and ends at Mallavaram, consists of two bypasses at Kasipentla and Kanipakam, 14-grade separators, six Major Bridges and 15 minor bridges.”

MoRTH is working 24×7 on a mission to make New India the ‘Infrastructure Hub of The World’, the minister said.

Meanwhile, the ministry stated that the project for making Chittoor to Mallavaram stretch on NH 140 into a six-lane highway is progressing at a rapid pace under Bharatmala Pariyojana.

The ambitious project of this NH section connects important towns in the Chittoor district. It connects Chittoor and Tirupati via Kanipakam, a religious place.

Once completed, the project will bring a dynamic transformation to this region that will enhance connectivity and would further boost economic activities along with religious tourism, the ministry said.
