New Delhi: The Delhi Police are probing whether China- and Hong Kong-based private firms are getting RRUs & BBUs—critical mobile tower equipment—stolen through a gang operating in Delhi’s Yamuna Vihar. As of now the probe has revealed that the China- and Hong Kong-based private firms are only purchasing stolen RRUs & BBUs—critical mobile tower equipment from a Delhi based gang.
The stolen equipment was smuggled abroad through a network of couriers.
Earlier one such gang was busted by the Delhi Police in October 2024.
The Delhi Police uncovered this racket while investigating a case involving the theft of RRUs and BBUs from a mobile tower in Yamuna Vihar. Their probe revealed that the stolen equipment was being sent to China via Skynet Express India Pvt. Ltd., a Mahipalpur-based courier company. One recipient of these stolen parts was identified as Hong Technology Company Limited.

The police have arrested Haseem Monu, Azaruddin, and Ajay Kumar in connection with the case. According to officials, Ajay had facilitated the shipment of 176 RRUs from June 2024 until now.
A case in this respect has been registered under Sections 112/3(5)/317(5)/61(2) of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).
According to sources, on January 27, the police received a tip-off about a gang engaged in the sale and purchase of stolen mobile tower equipment in Yamuna Vihar. Some members of the gang were allegedly smuggling these items to China and Hong Kong, where they were sold at higher prices through the Mahipalpur-based courier company.
Following this lead, investigators learned that Haseem Monu was planning to transport stolen RRUs to Mahipalpur for shipment to China and Hong Kong. When Haseem arrived in an SUV, officers intercepted him and found nine cardboard boxes inside the vehicle, filled with stolen mobile tower parts. These boxes were then loaded into another car, which was followed by the police to the office of Skynet Express India Pvt. Ltd., where the shipment was unloaded.

The Delhi Police team waited for several hours to catch the culprits. During midnight, Haseem and Azaruddin arrived at the courier office and were apprehended. Upon questioning, Haseem admitted that he had purchased nine stolen RRUs from Azaruddin for ₹90,000 per unit and then sold them to a person named Ki-Ki in Hong Kong for ₹1,45,000 per unit. The smuggling was facilitated by Rakesh Verma of Skynet Express India Pvt. Ltd., who handled the customs clearance and necessary documentation for the shipments. In return, Verma charged ₹700 per kg plus GST for exporting the RRUs.
The shipments were addressed to Hong Technology Company Limited, Flat RM A11/F, Winner Factory Building No. 55, Hung To Road, Kwun Tong TradingHKL, Hong Kong. The stolen equipment was falsely declared as “equipment machines for repair.”
Further investigation led to the recovery of 21 stolen RRUs:
- 9 RRUs from Haseem
- 10 RRUs from Rakesh Verma
- 2 RRUs from Azaruddin
The police then discovered that Ajay Kumar was also involved in the racket. He was smuggling stolen mobile tower equipment to Hong Kong through his company, Morvi Worldwide Logistics. His operations were allegedly controlled by Fateh Khan, a resident of Muzaffarnagar.

Ajay was charging ₹700 per kg to transport the stolen goods. Since each RRU weighs around 25 kg, the smuggling costs added up significantly. From June 2024 until now, Ajay had sent 176 RRUs on behalf of Fateh Khan. He used Skynet Express to export the RRUs and paid ₹250 per kg plus ₹1,800 per RRU as export costs. His associates, Sahil and Abhishek Mishra, were also found to be involved. Based on Ajay’s confession, the police recovered nine additional RRUs.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are now tracking other potential links in this international smuggling operation.
