NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday said that it has busted a network of an inter-state gang with the arrest of three persons for illegal possession of wildlife material.
The CBI also carried out searches at several locations and recovered 26 tiger or leopard claws
CBI spokesperson RC Joshi said that the agency has arrested Rajasthan’s Jaipur-based Pinter Patel and Ashok Parekh and Delhi-based Paramjeet Singh.
The official said that the arrested accused were produced before a court in Delhi and remanded to police custody. He said that a case was registered against three accused and unknown others.
In the FIR it was alleged that a network of the inter-state gang was involved in the illegal trafficking of wildlife material.
“CBI in association with the official of Wildlife Crime Control Bureau conducted searches at Delhi and recovered 19 numbers of leopard or tiger claws from the accused,” he said.
“Further searches were conducted at certain places in Jaipur which resulted in the recovery of 7 numbers of tiger/leopard claws,” Joshi added.
