CBI Arrests, Power Grid Officials Of Tata Projects In Bribery Case

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday said that it has arrested 6 people, including five officials of the Tata Projects in connection with a graft case.

A CBI source here said that the agency sleuths have arrested five officials of the Tata Projects and one senior official of the Power Grid.

He said that the Power Grid official arrested by the CBI has been identified as BS Jha and the agency recovered Rs 93 lakh of unaccounted cash from his premises.

Besides Jha, the CBI has arrested Deshraj Pathak, Executive Vice President, and RN Singh, Assistant Vice President of the Tata Projects.

The source, however, did not disclose the name of the three other officials of the Tata Projects.

He also revealed that the agency sleuths also carried out searches at 11 locations in Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad, etc.

He further added that the Tata Projects have got some projects for implementation in the north-eastern region of India and the case was registered based on the bribery allegations.
