CBFC trims sex scene of Shahid-Kriti in ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has made alterations to the upcoming romantic drama film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, including a reduction in a scene depicting a sexual act. The certification body has also mandated an ‘audio medication’ for the film.

According to sources, the CBFC has trimmed the scene of the sexual act by 25%, resulting in the censorship of nine seconds of footage. The intimate sequence, originally spanning 36 seconds, has been edited down to 27 seconds. Additionally, in the latter part of the movie, the term ‘daru’ (alcohol) has been substituted with ‘drink’.

Furthermore, the CBFC instructed the film’s team to incorporate an anti-smoking static message in Hindi with larger and more legible fonts. Following these adjustments, the CBFC granted the film a U/A certificate on February 2. The runtime of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is 143.15 minutes (2 hours 23 minutes and 15 seconds), as specified in the censor certificate.

About the film, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya features Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in lead roles, portraying an unconventional love story set in the realm of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Shahid portrays a scientist specialising in robotics who develops emotions and ultimately weds Kriti’s character, Sifra, an intellectually advanced female robot. The recently unveiled trailer hinted at Shahid’s character falling in love with the robot.

Penned and directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, the film is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Jyoti Deshpande, and Laxman Utekar. Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is slated for release in theatres on February 9 and also stars Dimple Kapadia and Dharmendra.

Speaking about the film, Shahid Kapoor expressed his excitement during a promotional event, emphasising the uniqueness of the project and his eagerness to explore a fresh narrative in the realm of love stories.
