The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta is likely to release the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 results this week.
NEW DELHI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta is likely to release the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 results this week. Although the official brochure states that results will be out in the second week of January, past trends suggest they may be declared earlier, possibly in the third week of December.
Experts observed that CAT 2024 was easier compared to the previous two years. Consequently, the cut-offs for admissions are expected to rise. The exam was conducted in three shifts — 8:30 am to 10:30 am, 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, and 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

Candidates can access their results on the official website, iimcat.ac.in. To download their scorecards, they need to log in using their registration number and password. Alongside the results, IIM Calcutta will also publish the final answer key.
The provisional answer key was released on December 3, and candidates had until December 5 to raise objections. The final answer key reflects any changes made after evaluating these objections.
This year, 2.93 lakh candidates appeared for CAT 2024, out of the 3.29 lakh registered candidates, resulting in an 89% attendance rate. Among the test-takers, 1.07 lakh were female, 1.86 lakh were male, and five identified as transgender.

To ensure fairness, IIM Calcutta uses a normalisation process that considers various factors, such as percentile distribution, mean, median, and the highest and lowest scores. This ensures consistency across shifts with varying difficulty levels.
The CAT score is a crucial requirement for postgraduate management programs at IIMs and other leading B-schools across India. With over 2.93 lakh aspirants awaiting their results, the announcement will mark a significant step in their academic and professional journeys.
Candidates are encouraged to regularly check the official website for updates and detailed instructions regarding the results.
