BENGALURU: India has been chosen as the first official ‘Country of Honour’ ever at the Marche’ Du Film’, organised alongside the Cannes Film Festival, in France. A host of Indian celebrities have flocked to Cannes to celebrate the festival of movies.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur led the star-studded Indian delegation on the Red Carpet at Palais des Festivals. The contingent included R Madhavan, Ricky Kej, Vani Tripathi, Prasoon Joshi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Shekhar Kapur, Nayanthara, Pooja Hegde, Tamannaah Bhatia and folk singer Mame Khan.
Cannes is as much famous for the movies which are screened during the festival, as it is for the looks and costumes of various celebrities at the Red Carpet event.
Let’s look at which Indian celebrities created ripples with their apparels at the Cannes 2022:
Deepika Padukone, who is a part of an eight-member jury, dazzled in a black and gold-striped saree designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. She embellished her shimmering costume with matching makeup and gorgeous earrings.
Madhavan, whose upcoming film ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ will be premiering at the Cannes on May 19, wore a black tuxedo suit created by Manish Malhotra. His shoes were from Dolce and Gabbana and the entire look was accentuated by an eyeshade.
Actress Urvashi Rautela also made heads turn as she made her Red carpet debut at the Cannes by pulling off a white off-shoulder ruffle gown with a long trail.
Nawazuddin Siddique, like Madhavan, also opted for a black tuxedo and paired it with a white shirt.
Tamannaah Bhatia, who is also a part of the Indian delegation, made a smashing debut at the Red Carpet with a charming bubble hem monochrome gown designed by Gauri and Nainika. She garnished her look with diamond earrings and quaint eye makeup which grabbed eyeballs.
Pooja Hegde, another female actor who made her Red Carpet debut with a bang, wore a white Maison Geyanna Youness ball gown, embellished with feathers. With hair pinned up in a ponytail, she enhanced her look with long, matching earrings.
