Bundles of cash showered at Gujarat singer

People were seen showering bundles of cash on Gujarati folk singer Kirtidan Gadhvi during a musical event in Valsad city of Gujarat, shows a viral video.

The video of the event has now gone viral on social media sites, leaving netizens in awe.

It shows singer Gadhvi performing along with his co-artists on a stage. As he sings popular Gujarati songs, an excited audience including men and women of all age showers wads of currency notes over him.

The entire stage can be seen deluged with currency notes, while the singer sits covered in it. According to reports, more than ₹50 lakhs in cash was showered on the folk singer.

The event was recorded on Saturday night during a special bhajan programme organised by the Valsad Agniveer Gau Seva Dal. Hundreds of people attended the bhajan programme.

It is not uncommon for people to shower money on each other during musical evenings in Gujarat, with people showing special love for folk singers.

According to local media, the cash showed at the event will be used for social causes.

Earlier, the Swami Vivekananda Eye Temple Trust organised a bhajan programme to collect funds for a new eye hospital. The programme was held at Supa village of Navsari near Surat where Kirtidan Gadhvi and another folk singer Urvashi Raddiya had performed. Hundreds of people arrived at the Supa Village to listen to the programme and showered currency notes in the bhajan
