NEW DELHI: Amritsar is set to witness an exhilarating sporting event as the Border Security Force (BSF) gears up to organize the 4th edition of the Bordermen Marathon 2025 on February 23. Themed #Hand in Hand With Border Population, this highly anticipated marathon will be graced by Daljit Singh Chawdhary, IPS, Director General, BSF, added to the prestige of the event.

Since its inception in 2022, the Bordermen Marathon has grown in scale and significance, attracting thousands of participants. This yearโs edition has registered over 5,200 runners, including professional athletes from India and abroad.

The event, conducted under the aegis of the Athletics Federation of India, is not only a test of endurance but also a celebration of unity and resilience, particularly among the youth from Punjabโs six border districts.
Race Categories and Prize Distribution
The marathon features three main race categories:
- Full Marathon (42.195 km) โ Prize money: โน1.5 lakh
- Half Marathon (21.097 km) โ Prize money: โน75,000
- 10 km Run โ Prize money: โน40,000
To encourage participation from border communities, a special category has been introduced, wherein the top three finishers in each segment will receive high-quality bicycles. Moreover, to promote womenโs sports participation, BSF has announced free registration for women in all categories.

Marathon Route and Significance
Recognized by the Athletics Federation of India, the marathon route will take runners through some of Amritsarโs most iconic landmarks. The race will start from Golden Gate, Amritsar, and conclude at JCP Attari, providing participants with a scenic yet challenging course.
