Director General of the BSF, Daljit Singh Chawdhary inaugurated residential quarters at BSF Camp, Assam More, Jalpaiguri, aimed at improving the living standards of BSF personnel and their families.
NEW DELHI: Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Daljit Singh Chawdhary, IPS, conducted a comprehensive two-day visit to the North Bengal Frontier on December 24 and 25, 2024. Accompanied by Ravi Gandhi, ADG, BSF Eastern Command, the DG assessed operational readiness and inaugurated key infrastructure projects.
During the visit, Inspector General Soorya Kant Sharma provided a detailed briefing on the operational and administrative aspects of the North Bengal Frontier. DG BSF visited the Teen Bigha Corridor, where he held a courtesy meeting with the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Sector Commander from Rangpur, emphasizing cross-border cooperation.

In a Sainik Sammelan at the border, the DG interacted with BSF personnel, commending their unwavering commitment to maintaining high standards of security and operational efficiency. Over a Prahari Bhoj with the jawans, he stressed the importance of physical fitness and overall well-being.
At the STC Baikunthpur, the DG engaged with newly recruited Mahila Praharis undergoing training. He encouraged them to uphold the highest training standards and inaugurated a new integrated training complex and advanced obstacle systems to enhance their preparedness.

The DG witnessed a joint retreat ceremony at the Land Custom Station (LCS) Fulbari alongside BGB Sector Commander from Thakurgaon. The event underscored the spirit of mutual cooperation and trust between the two border-guarding forces.
Chawdhary lauded the efforts of the North Bengal Frontier in maintaining peace and tranquility along the border. He praised their operational efficiency and commitment to ensuring national security.
The visit highlighted the BSF’s dedication to operational excellence, personnel welfare, and fostering strong bilateral relations with neighboring border forces.
