NEW DELHI: In an incident at Bihar’s Barh railway station on Saturday, a woman and her two children miraculously survived after a train passed over them. A viral video captured the intense moment as the mother shielded her children, crouching on the tracks just inches away from the speeding train.
The family, hailing from Begusarai, was en route to Delhi on the Vikramshila Express, a train running from Bhagalpur to Delhi. Chaos ensued during the boarding process at Barh station due to a large crowd on the platform. Amid the commotion, the woman and her children were pushed off the platform, landing on the tracks.

As the train commenced its departure, onlookers screamed for help. Responding to the urgency of the situation, the mother crouched over her children, providing a protective shield as the train thundered over them. All three emerged from the harrowing incident without a scratch.
The chilling video, circulated widely, depicted the mother’s heroic act and the passengers’ disbelief at the family’s escape. Within seconds, the train is gone and the woman is seen motionless on the track. Later, a group of passengers jumped down to the tracks to rescue the woman and her children.
Separated from his family during the chaotic boarding, the woman’s husband leaped from the train and rushed back to the station. The family was then taken to a nearby hospital for a thorough medical checkup. Fortunately, their condition is reported to be stable.
