Teri Deewani and Chand Sifarish singer Kailash Kher was attacked during a concert in Karnataka on January 29. Two men from the audience threw a water bottle at him demanding to hear a Kannada song.

Kailash Kher was part of the three-day Hampi Utsav which kickstarted on January 27. Kailash paid a musical tribute to Puneeth Rajkumar – a south Indian cinema icon known for films like Appu (2002), Gandhadagudi (2022) and James (2022) through a song series.

Hampi Utsav was organized for the first time this year. This festival was held to commemorate the history and culture of the new Vijayanagara district. The festival was Inaugurated by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai last week.

There are four stages set up for the event – the main one at Gayatri Peeta, Eduru Basavanna Vedike, Hampi Virupaksheshwar Vedike and Sasuvekalu Vedike.

Various artists like Arjun Jannya, Vijaya Prakash, Raghu Dikshit, Anannya Bhath and Arman Mallik also performed at the festival.

Recently, Kailash Kher also performed in Lucknow for the three-day Uttar Pradesh Diwas where he sang some beautiful sufi numbers.

Kher also made headlines as one of his song clips went viral on social media. In the video, it showed a Pakistani groom singing ‘Chand Sifarish’ from the movie Fanaa for his bride on their wedding day.
