NEW DELHI Bollywood enthusiasts are in for a treat as the iconic film ‘Mr. India’ is set to grace the prestigious British Film Institute (BFI) on Sunday. Producer Boney Kapoor himself will attend the screening, promising an interactive session right after.
The announcement was made through a video posted on Instagram by the UK Asian Film Fest, where Boney expressed excitement for the event.
“Hi all, Tongues on Fire in partnership with Movie Girls is screening ‘Mr. India’ on the 17th of December at the prestigious British Film Institute,” he shared in the video. Kapoor further revealed that he would engage in a conversation with Mike McCain, after the screening, providing insights into the making of the film.

In the video, Boney shared his enthusiasm for reliving the moments during the screening. “Make sure to be there; I will be there. You will have fun watching it as we had fun making it. I will relive the moments while I am watching the film with you all,” he exclaimed.
‘Mr. India,’ a 1987 blockbuster directed by Shekhar Kapur, features Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, and Amrish Puri in iconic roles. The film has garnered a cult following over the years and is considered a must-watch for Bollywood aficionados.
The movie recently gained attention on social media when ‘Bharat’ director Ali Abbas Zafar announced his collaboration with Anil Kapoor, sparking anticipation for a new project related to the classic ‘Mr. India.’
Just few months ago, in a recent interview with The New Indian, Boney had shared intriguing insights into the making of ‘Mr. India.’ He emphasised the close-knit collaboration among the team, opting for in-camera shooting over post-production editing for special effects. He credited the skilled team, including cinematographer Baba Azmi, special effects cameraman Peter Pereira, and action director Veeru Devgan, for the film’s success.
