New Delhi: BJP candidate Manjinder Singh Sirsa wins in the Rajouri Garden constituency with 64132 votes, while AAP’s Dhanwati Chandela loses with 45942 votes.
Counting for the Rajouri Garden Assembly seat began on Saturday, February 8.
The constituency, one of Delhi’s 70 Assembly segments, is a general seat and not reserved for Scheduled Castes (SCs) or Scheduled Tribes (STs).
The key contenders in the race are the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and Congress.
In the 2020 Delhi Assembly elections, AAP’s Dhanwati Chandela won the seat with 62,212 votes, securing a 55.7% vote share and defeating BJP’s Rajesh Khanna by a margin of 22,972 votes.
In the 2015 elections, AAP’s Jarnail Singh emerged victorious with 54,916 votes (46.55%), defeating Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) candidate Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who secured 44,880 votes (38.04%). Singh won by a margin of 10,036 votes, with a total of 1,17,322 valid votes cast in the constituency.
