BJP’s KP Maurya, 7 Others File Nomination For UP Council Polls

LUCKNOW: Eight candidates including deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya filed their nomination papers for the ensuing legislative council elections here on Thursday.

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath, deputy CM Brijesh Pathak, and state BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh accompanied the candidates during the process.

Apart from Maurya who lost the Assembly elections to Samajwadi Party’s Pallavi Patel from Sirathu constituency, Bhupendra Chaudhary, Dayashankar Mishra Dayalu, JPS Rathore, Jaswant Saini, Danish Azad Ansari, Banwarilal Dohre and Mukesh Sharma have also thrown their hats in the poll ring.

The candidates met the state unit party president, UP general secretary Sunil Bansa and other senior leaders at the party office before heading to the nomination centre at the Assembly complex.

A large number of ministers, BJP MLAs and party workers were presented at the office on this occasion.
