NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is likely to release its much-anticipated manifesto for the Delhi Assembly elections today at 2 PM, according to sources. Party President JP Nadda is expected to unveil the manifesto, which will outline the BJP’s vision and key promises for the national capital.

Sources suggest that the manifesto will be released in parts, with the BJP adopting a unique strategy to maintain voter engagement. A new scheme is likely to be introduced each day, with a different leader announcing the details. This phased rollout is aimed at keeping the electorate informed and focused on specific policy areas over time.

Insiders have also indicated that the manifesto will place a significant focus on women, highlighting initiatives related to their safety, empowerment, and welfare. These measures are expected to address critical issues such as women’s security, skill development, and access to resources, reflecting the BJP’s intent to prioritize gender-inclusive governance.

The BJP has already formed a dedicated manifesto committee, led by South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, to ensure the document resonates with Delhi’s diverse population. The committee has been engaging with various stakeholders, including traders, professionals, residents of unauthorized colonies, and marginalized communities, to create an inclusive and comprehensive roadmap.

Additionally, the party has constituted a “chargesheet committee” under the leadership of Rohini MLA Vijender Gupta. This committee is tasked with highlighting the alleged shortcomings of the incumbent Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, providing a critical assessment of its governance and setting the stage for a competitive electoral battle.

The manifesto is expected to emphasize key areas such as infrastructure development, public health, education, and economic growth. Election in-charge Baijayant Panda (MP and the party’s national vice-president) has instructed party workers to streamline preparations and focus on effective campaigning ahead of the elections, scheduled for February 2025.

While official details of the manifesto are yet to be revealed, the BJP’s strategy to release schemes gradually and prioritize women’s welfare is likely to shape the political discourse in Delhi. As the manifesto’s rollout begins, it will be closely watched to see how it compares to the governance record of the AAP, setting the tone for a high-stakes electoral contest.
