BJP prepares ‘Spotify Wrapped’ for ‘pappu’ Rahul Gandhi; leaves internet ROFLing

It is the season when Spotify unveils our musical obsessions of the year! But in a twist, BJP took a jibe at Rahul Gandhi by curating and dropping a reel poking fun at his Spotify “wrapped.” They dubbed it ‘Pappu’s Playlist: Bangkok, Italy,’ and crowned George Soros as his top artist, quipping, “You’re a top fan, spending endless hours plotting against India.”

This year, Spotify’s new feature showed similar music tastes, just like how BJP playfully mentioned Rahul’s favourite spots: Bangkok, Italy, Soros HQ, Beijing, and the beloved Dholakpur.

What’s on Gandhi’s playlist? The Chinese national anthem tops the chart, followed by ‘Young, Dumb, and Broke’ (a spot-on choice after Congress lost), ‘I Am a Loser’ post their defeat in the Hindi heartland, and ‘Moye Moye’—a sad tune as they lost their base in Chhattisgarh, where they’ve ruled since 2018, and even heavyweight TS Singh Deo lost in Ambikapur.

Congress suffered losses in three big states—Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh—but scored big in Telangana. Congress President Kharge called for an India Alliance meeting on December 6 to address these losses, which have shaken up the India Alliance.

The BJP’s curated Gandhi playlist features Chinese President Xi Jinping, Member of Parliament Jairam Ramesh, Sam Pitroda, his political guru, and even Chhota Bheem.

This meme war became an instant hit on Instagram, with users taking it in jest. One quipped, “BJP courting the Gen Z votes,” while another shared, “The largest democracy’s political parties having an internet meme battle is comedy gold.” A third remarked, “BJP’s winning even in the art of trolling!”
