BJP names 40 star campaigners for J&K Assembly Elections

SRINAGAR: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP National President J P Nadda, Union Ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, G Kishan Reddy, Dr Jitendra Singh, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are among the 40 prominent campaigners for BJP candidates in the upcoming General Elections to the Legislative Assembly in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.

 

In addition to national leaders and Union Ministers, MPs Jugal Kishore Sharma and Ghulam Ali Khatana, J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina, Organizing Secretary Ashok Koul, Dr Narinder Singh, Sunil Sharma, Devender Singh Rana, and Sham Lal Sharma are among the local leaders included in the campaign list.

Notably, former Ministers Dr Nirmal Singh, Kavinder Gupta, and Sukhnandan Choudhary, who have reportedly not received nominations from the party this time, are also listed as official campaigners for BJP candidates.

A roster of 40 BJP leaders set to participate in the election campaign for Phase-I of the General Elections to the Legislative Assembly in J&K has been submitted by the party to the Election Commission of India, in accordance with Explanation (2) to Section 77 of the Representation of People Act 1951.

According to a communication from BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh to CEC Rajiv Kumar, the list will remain valid for the remaining Legislative Assembly constituencies listed in Schedules 2 and 3 for the State of J&K, unless an updated list is submitted within the designated time frame.
