NEW DELHI: Even as Bihar is in the throes of an utter political embroglio, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has chosen to stay silent.

JD (U) leader and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has called a meeting of all his party MPs and MLAs at his residence in Patna on Tuesday amid a rift with its coalition partner BJP.

The Congress and the RJD have also called a meeting of their party leaders in Patna on Tuesday. The Congress had already welcomed Kumar if he decides to part ways with the BJP.

JD (U) president Rajiv Ranjan Singh had recently said that the party has identified forces who conspired against Kumar in the last assembly polls in the state in 2020.

Bihar BJP called a meeting of its leaders on Monday evening at the Patna residence of deputy chief minister Tarkishore Prasad but remained tight-lipped about its political strategy in the state.

A BJP leader in Delhi told The New Indian that the party leadership has asked leaders to avoid making any comments about the political events in Bihar and wait for the situation to unfold.

The BJP recently had convened a meeting of its seven morchas in Patna where party president JP Nadda, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and general secretary (organisation) BL Santhosh had participated. Before the meeting, the party had sent its delegates to all the 243 assembly constituencies in the state.
