NARNAUND (Haryana): Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) MP Ram Chander Jangra on Friday faced protests from farmers as the protesters surrounded his vehicle and allegedly damaged the windshield.
It is not clear that the windshield was broken by the farmers or by police during clash.
When they learned about the parliamentarian’s visit, the farmers reached the spot to protest against the three farm laws and showed black flags to him. The farmers were stopped from entering the inauguration spot where the Rajya MP was on his way to lay a foundation stone. The farmers had also blocked the street with tractors to bar him from visiting the inauguration site.
The police brought the MP to the venue through another route.
This led to a confrontation between the police and the farmers, following which the police resorted to a mild lathi charge on the farmers.
During the clash, some farmers suffered minor injuries. Police detained some farmers involved in the violence.
Agitated by the detention of their members, the farmers blocked the Delhi-Sirsa highway near Ramayan toll. Also Read & Watch: Like In Past, Siachen To Jaisalmer, PM Spends 8th Diwali With Soldiers. This Time In Nowshera
