NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has yet again been issued a summon by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), on Monday, in the excise policy case.
The Delhi CM is slated to appear before the central agency by December 21. The ED has summoned him to question him about the case, alongside his involvement in the case.
However, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) officials believe that he is being summoned only because of ‘political vendetta’. “This is a completely fake case only to target the AAP leadership. The BJP has not been able to produce a single evidence in courts. It’s just political vendetta to counter the growing popularity of AAP across the country,” read a release.
The party’s statement further illustrated that it was just because of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) fear of Kejriwal that it would levy false cases against him to bring him down. “They fear Arvind Kejriwal the most, his Delhi model the most. If today Sanjay Singh, Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain join the BJP, they will be given a clean chit like Ajit Pawar and Chhagan Bhujbal,” the party stated.

They further hinted at the saffron party arresting and suspending anybody who dared to question them or the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Following this, AAP said that the decision to summon him during his period of Vipassana was motivated since he had already revealed that he would be going on a meditation tour. They highlighted that the tour had been planned a month prior, in November. Presently, the party has revealed that Kejriwal’s lawyers will be studying the notice’s legality.
Earlier on November 2, the ED had sent him a notice for his summon. However, he sat that out, opting to visit Madhya Pradesh during an election campaign, calling the notice “politically motivated”.
