BJP chief JP Nadda visits Sacred Heart Cathedral

NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Jay Prakash Nadda embraced the Christmas spirit by visiting the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Extending prayers and greetings on the festive occasion, Nadda expressed the significance of Jesus Christ as a timeless source of inspiration for humanity, on Monday.

After offering his prayers at the church, Nadda urged people to embrace the teachings of Jesus Christ, emphasising values of peace, harmony, and societal progress.

Speaking to the media, he said, “I took blessings from Jesus Christ. We all know that he has been a source of inspiration to all of us for humanity, for which he spent his entire life.”

He continued, “We want to take inspiration from him and walk on his path to establish harmony, peace, and development for the people and society. He also inspired people to come together. We should take lessons from his teachings and follow them in our lives for the harmony, peace, and progress of society.”

Highlighting the importance of Christmas festivities, Nadda emphasised the need to remember and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. He encouraged people to draw inspiration from Christ’s dedication to peace and harmony.

He aligned himself along the principles of society’s betterment.

The visit to the Catholic Church is being perceived as a part of the saffron party’s efforts to connect with the Christian community.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had previously visited the same cathedral on Easter Day.

In line with the celebrations, the PM has organised a Christmas party at his residence, inviting Christian religious leaders.

Among the attendees were Kerala BJP leaders, including Tom Vadakkan, Anil Antony and Anju Bobby George.
