BIOFACH INDIA 2024: Showcases products made from organic & natural ingredients

NEW DELHI: The 16th edition of BIOFACH INDIA 2024 has officially begun today, August 3, at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida. The opening session was graced by Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal.

Organized by NuernbergMesse in collaboration with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), the event runs until August 5. This year’s fair is co-located with NATURAL EXPO INDIA and MILLETS INDIA, marking a significant convergence of the organic, natural, and millet sectors.

The opening session of BIOFACH India 2024 was graced by Commerce Secretary Sunil Barthwal.

At the expo, numerous products were showcased that highlight the benefits and versatility of millet. This increased attention to millet comes as part of a broader initiative led by Prime Minister Modi led NDA government to promote millet on a global scale. Last year, the international community also recognized the importance of millet by celebrating the International Year of Millets. This global focus underscores millet’s potential as a sustainable and nutritious food source, aligning with ongoing efforts to enhance its presence and use worldwide.

In addition to various companies, representatives from different states are also showcasing products made from organic ingredients sourced from their regions.

The New Indian team spoke with a representative from Manipur, who was highlighting the state’s black rice. This product has gained attention for its nutritional benefits and unique properties. Recently, during an international conference of agricultural economists, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the global significance of black rice. He noted that it is increasingly recognized as a superfood and highlighted its potential role in addressing global nutrition challenges.

BIOFACH INDIA 2024 aims to reshape the industry by showcasing the latest trends and innovations in organic and natural products, as well as millets. The fair is poised to be a key business platform, bringing together over 200 industry brands for networking, sourcing, and learning opportunities. Attendees can gain valuable insights from global experts through a series of curated conference sessions.

The expo gives a vibrant atmosphere, with a focus on health, growth, and sustainability, reflecting the dynamic evolution of the organic and natural products sector.
